How oh how I wish that Goodreads had a "Select all that apply" option for adding books to your shelf, especially books in a series, especially when there are more than 20 books in that series and you binge-read all of them, not quite in one sitting, but close enough.

"Why do we have to say goodbye already? They say it’s because I’m too old now, but
to me, nothing’s changed."

This a book about connections, so as a lover of found family, I cried. It was like P2V4 all over again as another rift grew between Rozemyne & her lower city family. Felt like quite a pivotal volume, as she properly settles into noble society on a national level. That rlly heartbreaking illustration is in 'A Place to Call Home', but 'A Promise' & 'The Passage of Time and a New Promise' were definitely the real tearjerkers.

"It’s a promise. Even if we can’t meet each other like this anymore, I’ll keep making books for you. And this promise lasts forever.”
"Even if we can’t meet each other like this anymore, I’ll keep thinking of ways to help all of you. That’s my promise to you.”

Extra stuff:
-Angelica as comic relief is amazing! "The temple is a delicious place" "The temple is a tough place [because everyone else does scholar work]" Love her so much & I hope she continues showing up with higher frequency in later books.
-For now I like Eglantine
-Bruh why are they so against
Justus cross-dressing

-RA sections rlly are just so much more fun than Ehrenfest sections, but that lower city fam plotline carried the Ehrenfest parts so much
