It’s hard to make this story compelling without knowing how campaign 2 unfolds. The connection to Veth’s fear of water didn’t really land, but the art depicting it was interesting.
Graphic: Alcoholism, Confinement, Death, Self harm, Kidnapping, and Alcohol

Solid plot, obviously these comics are all backstories, which can make them feel a bit too much like a prologue and can feel incomplete, but I don't think this one has that issue as much

This has the same artist as the Yasha book BUT I didn't mind the art style this time around! There was something more polished and less cartoony about it this time around, and I think that's because it has a different colorist. I never realized what a huge impact a colorist can have on the whole tone of a graphic novel, but this difference is immense. It might also have to do with Yasha and Veth/Nott being very different characters. The cartoonishness of the art style seems less out of place with a halfling or goblin. If you, like me, weren't a fan of the Yasha book because of the art, give this one a try anyway, it's very different.
