I really just read this as a challenge for myself. I would say if you read the first page and hate it, don't continue.

I... got a few nice commonplace quotes out of this book but I don't think I loved the experience. And truly with the amount of words Joyce just made up, did he really have to use so many slurs? Ough.

(Aside from the racial slurs, any content warnings I'm giving are basically purely my interpretation of certain parts. Shrug.)

second read update: Okay whether I was attacked by amnesia or I forgot to mark this as finished a couple of months ago... Anyways, mind-blowing work. But I think it's impossible for anyone other than Joyce to understand all the allusion and reference... Very impressive. I enjoyed reading annotation more than the actual text if that says something about it. Very novel experience. Appreciated all the word play and confusion and graphs. But reading it twice is a bit too much.

It's a very strange experiment in language, but once the mystery of the language is cracked, there's lots of fun to be had at Finnegans Wake!
