It's not as good as the first book, the pacing was fast, but I appreciated the continued character development and the introduction to the new characters. It does a fairly good job jumping back and forth between timeliness.

I have to admit I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the first.

The cutting back and forth between present and past was very disorienting, especially once I realized it was only a handful of months apart

There’s a plot twist near the end that I feel like is meant to be a bit of a gut punch, but is almost immediately smoothed over and everyone’s friends again
