What’s great about this is that it’s a logically organized quick hit of some of the major pillars of stoicism. I think it’s the perfect “I’m having a hard time / lost my focus” read to jumpstart a turnaround in your mindset.

This is a good book. It’s small, both in size and length, but its purpose is clear and fulfilled perfectly.

Of course, it’s a book on Stoicism, and it is the best introduction to it before tackling the primary sources of Epictetus, Seneca, Aurelius, and secondary modern analyses (neither of which I have yet read, so take this with a grain of salt).

Or, if you would rather, read this book and be satisfied with the range and depth it provides.

The book is an engaging and accessible introduction to central themes that particular Stoics contemplated. It briefs on history and the practical advice that everybody is so crazy for.

I won’t read it again, but only because I would rather read directly from the sources or other books from Sellars.

Honestly, I felt that this was a great little introduction to Stoicism. While I'm passed the intro stage to this philosophy, I'm certainly not above beginner, so this was an excellent way to be reminded of many of the important aspects of Stoicism. My copy did have a misprint, tho, that made it difficult to read in a couple of spots, but overall it was still pretty solid :)
