The banter and wit in Abby’s books is always on point and this book doesn’t disappoint.
There’s a lot of miscommunication in this book, so be prepared, but it’s accidental.
The characters are wonderful and charming, and the love story is well written and cute.
I loved the ALS side of this story, I know there’s more to it than just this story but it was a good way to include chronic illness and bring awareness to a chronic illness that needs some attention.

This might be my favorite Abby Jimenez book to date. Literally cried, laughed, yelled and gasped out loud (sorry fellow commuters).

I bawled through this book. It might have been because I was on a plane (I read once that we're more likely to cry on planes - something about feeling detached from our normal lives and feeling kind of private and thoughtful) and because I was on the tail end of my period (lol that I treat Goodreads like my diary, oops), but every Abby book hits me hard. Abby always handles delicate subject matter with such deftness and compassion, and the way characters handle grief and dread and fear always feels grounded in reality and complicated in the way it would actually play out in life. I was initially wary of the way the characters were talking about pregnancy and addiction, but as usual Abby came through with her trademark empathy and introspection and made me feel so deeply for everyone involved. This book really got to me with its depictions of how families can always heal and figure out how to be there for each other, no matter how bad it's been for years and generations, and of how no day is guaranteed. I was obsessed with both Vanessa and Adrian and was really rooting for both of them, and the ending truly gave me chills. This was one of my favorites of Abby's for sure.

Another one knocked outta the park by Abby Jimenez 💕

This could have been a 5 star read, but a miscommunication trope will always be a deduction from me.

I LOVED how this wasn't necessarily insta-love. We saw two strangers become friends before lovers, and that's everything to me.

I actually learned a lot about ALS from this book. It definitely made me think about how I live each day and see the world. And I got some laughs out of it!

Honestly disappointed in this book. The first spicy scene in the book was just so cringey. Also Adrian could’ve spent more time watching Vanessa’s videos to find out about her ALS possibility. Like I thought he knew already and when he found out for real I was surprised too. He’s a dumb boy. Idk he was likable in the previous book but I didn’t like him in this. And for the book to end with her not having ALS? Like I guess happy ever after but also ??? Just annoyed with this book. The first one in the series was the best and my favorite tbh
