Although some of the "jokes" and "funny" similes here are just plain stupid, there's some really good tips here, including recipes, a grocery list, and exercise ideas, all packaged with some interesting information about the physiology of weight gain and weight loss.

My mother gave me this book as a Christmas gift (nice, huh?) but I'll admit, it's a good read and has a wealth of good, basic information that's approachable without making you feel like too big of a dummy. I'd recommend it for people trying to learn more about diet and health...it won't necessarily serve as a tool in your weight loss, but this stuff is good to know. It's a stepping stone, I'd call it.

This was definitely an interesting book, from a "biochemistry of food" perspective. I'm not sure I really gleaned much in terms of food strategy specifics, but I did learn a lot regarding the breakdown of food in the body...and especially WHY being overweight has health implications. The cartoons are pretty funny too :)

This book tells it like it is - eat and exercise in moderation and you can be healthy. Eat chips, drink beer and don't exercise and guess what .. you start to get fat. WOW it makes so much sense....

I thought about 5 pages of the book were helpful and skimmed/skipped the rest.

A lot of reviewers have criticized this book for its cartoon drawings and silly sense of humor...but I enjoyed the style. I'm not particularly drawn to scientific explanations (which covers the contents of the majority of this book), so the lighter approach worked for me.
