This book was so so long. I feel like a ton happened and nothing at the same time. The slow burn romance was excruciating but worth it in the end. I grew to like the characters more but was annoyed how everything kept going wrong. In a book that is 1000 pages, I need some wins lol. Overall disappointed by the ending but impressed with the cliff hanger.

Didn’t love the repetitive “I want to do this.. BUT alas! xyz…” writing that seemed to come up on almost every page. Maybe that’s just Penn really hammering home that the FMC has major self-doubt issues.

The burn is also sloooowwwww. This series is heavy on the world building and plot. You’ve got to read about 1700 pages before the 🌶️ finally culminates! 😂 but the romance coming out of Luther’s mouth for all three books is just *sigh* chefs kiss 🤤

The fact that I have to wait for the next book is killing me.
THAT CLIFF HANGER! Are you joking?!?

So yea my hearts on the floor and now I’m just waiting to be brought back to life when the 4th and final installment comes out.

I love the whole series, but after practically injecting the 2nd into my skin in desperation, this one slogged. Maybe because it was a lot longer and had more world building?

I miss the constant banter of book 2.

I stan Taran! 🫶
