Saw the holographic cover one day and said - WANT! The kid that had it was really enjoying the series, and I concur. It's well-written and fast-paced. Tame and I think more interesting for a 5th grader than an actual middle schooler though.

This is a completely fun middle grade book and it’s the start of a new series, one of which I will be continuing on with. The cover caught the eye of more than one person while I was reading out and about. The book was also snatched up by my niece as soon as I was done reading it.
The story centers on a very real kid just trying to get by at a new school and it quickly takes a turn for the weird. Strange things start happening, strange creatures show up and Robert finds himself in the middle of it all. There is a big mystery going on at the school and Robert wants to get to the bottom of it. I loved the mystery part of the story and thought it was well done since I (an adult) hadn’t guessed everything that was really going on.
I will definitely be picking up the next book in the series and continuing on with the weird and fun adventure!

a great young teen read, very quick and entertaining. The premise is good and the style of the holographic covers make the books exciting and out of the ordinary. The illustrations bring the book to life and make it fun and enjoyable to read.

I checked this out at the end of the school year last year, and put it on my nightstand to read. (Bad choice. Creepy cover). Apparently, the kittens got rambunctious and knocked it off, where it got under my bed and forgotten until... a few weeks ago. Whoops. So, I read it, guiltily. It was okay. It'll make a good series for reluctant readers.
