Love the Lost World but it's torn down by rampant racism. Poison Belt was fine. The last two short stories were fine. This would have gotten three stars if not for the Land of Mists. It opens by discrediting the first two tales as in universe fiction based around Challenger, which is baffling, and it's also in third person, forgoing Sir ACD's usual MO. The Land of Mists is a boring tale that reads like Sir ACD was just trying to justify his own spiritual beliefs to readers through his characters. Because of that and the racism, it gets a two.

I don't get why these stories aren't more popular. I think they are hilarious and wonderful and achieve everything that Conan Doyle did through Sherlock Holmes, but fresher because NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT PROFESSOR CHALLENGER.
