The art, the story telling, the history and the writing all meld into a tale well worth reading.

This book initially captivated me but I became increasing frustrated with it. It lost much of it's direction towards the end and at some points became absurd.

This is another book that I perhaps rated too soon or too harshly. This is one of those peculiar stories that waves from the back of your mind and says "yoo-hoo, remember me?" So much that happens in this book seems so random. It's just not your average story.

When I first read it I found the narrative arbitrary and without conclusion. However, when I think of it now, some 4 or 5 years later,I realise that this doesn't matter with this particular tale. It's far too absurd to warrant direction or purpose.

For those who like something a little more off the wall. It's well written, with intresting and peculiar characters that you will remember for a long time. Probably whether you want to or not.

Disappointingly bad. I was excited for the fish - and then didn't see much reason for why was this book even made about fish. The language was often poor, so were the jokes. Not sure if there was even one female character who was not there just for her body. Struggled a lot to get to the end.

Parts of this book were laugh out loud funny, parts moving, parts thought provoking and parts incomprehensible. And at the end I was left with a general feeling of 'thank goodness that's over'. It's hard to enjoy a book where you dislike almost every character.
