This reads like high quality fan fiction. The characters and dialogue are 90% spot on, the plot gets a little hand wavy, but that's mostly fine.
The lower rating is mostly because of the accuracy of replicating and to some extent even expanding the content issues that bothered me about the original show. This was a fun experience overall, but not one I care to re-read.
Be aware of general pervasive kidnapping and holding of prisoner content, sprinkled with torture and death, as well as some sexual content. One of the storylines follows a lesbian couple.

I think it's worth listening to this audiobook just to to hear James Marsters' performance as Spike. He is truly amazing! I love these multi cast productions that sounds like an audio theatre production. They are usually very cozy and entertaining to listen to. Overall the cast was great and I enjoyed the story. However, all the fighting scenes were very hard to follow when all you hear are punching sounds and people yelling. There was just too much going on at the same time so it was hard to process who was hitting who and what was going on. So I wish there would've been less of them, or that they would've been made differently. Otherwise I loved listening to most of the one on one dialogues, which I think suits this kind of media perfectly.
Graphic: Violence and Kidnapping

When a slayer from an alternate universe asks for Spike's help, he enlists Clem, a baby slayer, and Giles. to help take down his evil ex-lover.
The book is filled with fan-favorite characters voiced by the original actors. Which was great, though I didn't like what they did with Tara's character. It just didn't fit her. Though I was extremely happy she was back!
They obviously set it up for a sequel at the end which I'm excited about.
The only thing I really didn't like was all the grunting and fighting sounds, as well as kissing sounds, not great for people with misophonia. But overall, I did like the dramatization style.
