Very quick read, cute short stories. Like David Sedaris, it seems like the author has really lived a lot in a few years. I preferred the stories of him as a child - slightly less introspective and more amusing. I felt like some of the stories stopped short - I needed more character development, or more of an explanation. But overall I liked it.

I think this was four stars for me because I did the audio book. I think otherwise I would just say 3 stars. This is one that must be listened to on audio for full enjoyment.

I bought this book after hearing Kevin Kling interviewed on an episode of the podcast On Being. I was hooked.
Extraordinarily well-written; Kevin Kling is a wordsmith. I loved this book. It's a series of short essays, so it's the perfect book to dip in and out of; I've been keeping it in my purse and reading it on my work breaks. Today I literally laughed out loud. Definitely a good book.

Kevin Kling is so durn gung-ho about life and just so Minnesotan. This book is great if you're looking for some nice, non-disturbing bed-time stories.

I first heard of this book after hearing the author interviewed on "On Being" on Minnesota Public Radio. Maybe it's because I grew up in ND and now live in Minnesota, but I found this book hilarious. So many things were clever and downright realistic in regards to the life up here. It was poignant and thought-provoking at the same time, coming from a very interesting man who has a unique perspective on life. I am so glad that I took the time to read this book.

I loved this. Just short snippets that were funny and cute and endearing and maybe what I needed at this point in my may but a really lovely reading experience. A lot of the reviews say that its not the same as his NPR skits but I've never heard him so have nothing to compare him to which may have helped.

When I heard Kevin Kling’s interview on the podcast On Being, I knew I had to read his book. Kevin is a master storyteller. The stories are so familiar- it felt like I was sitting right next to him. He can string words together in such an amazing way, and can transform even grief and hardship into something beautiful. His writing is personal, honest and funny. I will definitely be reading this again.
