Fucking fantastic. There's so much in here that is true to both pregnancy and early parenthood. The "trapped in an alien hospital" storyline was wacky and colorful, showcasing Jess' ability under pressure. Everything in this book was an amazing mix of grounded real life, over the top sci-fi superheroics, and just the right amount of genuine emotion. Amazing stuff.

I enjoy Jessica Drew and loved her in this collection.

This is the one. This is the best Marvel book I've read so far. Brilliant fun, great cartooning, fantastic layouts and pacing. Top notch.

I was skeptical of this new storyline for Jessica. I wasn't sure about the whole space hospital hostage situation. I worried that this was just going to be a cheesy slapstick comedy gag that dragged on too long. But this book turned me around and convinced me this is a good direction for this character. By the time you get to #5, the feels are really going, and Jess is a completely believable character in that situation. I don't have kids, but sometimes I wake up at night worrying about how much I'm going to worry when I have kids. I've been trying to cut back on the collections that I buy, but this is a book that I'm going to want to go back to and read again when I get to that stage of life.

One thing I would love to see is an interaction between Jessica Drew and Jessica Jones. Both are bad ass private eyes (with history together) who also happens to be the only two superhero Moms I know of in the Marvel U (except Sue Storm? Oh, and Tigra?). Surely Jessica Jones could give Spider-Woman a few pointers on balancing being a Mom with being a hero?

Great art, a lot of fun. Also, how is this the first pregnant superhero I'm seeing? I love it!

Hopeless and Rodriguez again team-up to tell a Jessica Drew tale and this time things have changed dramatically. We enter with Jessica very pregnant (not a spoiler, look at the cover). Its great to see how she is dealing with this change but I would have loved had we had the chance to see her along the journey. I also can't believe as close as she claims she is to Carol, the paternal reveal wouldn't have been talked about, a lot, earlier. Ben Urich and Porcupine are still around but not as much in this opening arc. They were missed. Rodriguez's art suits the book really well. Overall, the book was good but I felt robbed of some storyline that might get addressed in the future.
