The most heartbreaking play I have ever read. It’s the most painful depiction of depression and the attitudes people have towards it. It address the stigma of mental health and the turmoil it causes within families. It also touches on delusion and the inability to accept the truth and the constant brushing aside of the severity of the situation that happens a lot particularly with depression. It’s the most painful thing I’ve ever read.

I always look forward to Zeller's plays in their Hampton translations - and although I wouldn't say this 'disappoints', it doesn't quite reach the heights of some of their earlier works... or perhaps they are just becoming more predictable. This DOES contain a few surprising twists at the end, and I am sure it plays very well.
