The story started off slow. Like super slow. Almost gave up on it numerous times. It wasn’t until I was a little more than half way through that it started to pick up and become more intriguing. I am glad I finished it though, it turned out to be a really good story with twists you definitely wouldn’t see coming.

3.5 - I enjoyed the book and it was easy to read, but have to say that the way the author described certain secondary characters is slightly racist.

To be perfectly honest of only read a couple of good thrillers before when done well I really enjoy them but unfortunately this one kind of missed. Right from the beginning I don’t understand the character of Martha who she is her change in personality. Her motivations really don’t make sense to me, I also feel like The mystery couldn’t have been solved by the reader not that I’m particularly good at it but it does feel to come from nowhere. I was interested enough in the mystery to keep reading but it didn’t fully satisfy. Also, Kits friends are awful. And Tommy barely gets a pass.

The audio version is incredibly rough to listen to. 
The story started off great and then just ended flat for me. 
There were multiple times I thought about DNF-ing but I finished it.
