Oh my! This was such a good listen for today's rainy weather! I enjoyed it very much. The narrator is perfect for this book. The characters are people I would like to know, and and the story line is a good one. I especially liked the odd little twist in this tale. I look forward to the next offering in this series!

This was such a cute cozy mystery! The main character was actually smart and deductive, which doesn't always seem to be the case in these stories. So often, the main characters just kind of stumble upon the solution. The cast of characters in the town was so fleshed out and everyone had their own personality and additions to the story. Oliver made my heart melt, he was the absolute best <3

LOVED LOVED LOVED this story! The first couple of chapters showed our main character, Kate, a professionally-trained and experienced pastry chef, at her wit’s end, struggling to find work in the small coastal town of Coral Cay. She finds an opportunity with a crotchety, local baker and then, when he’s accused of murder, discovers how quickly the town is willing to take her in and work together to prove his innocence. I love how the entire town turns out to learn about the life of the murder victim to ultimately find the true killer.
The characters are all fun and wonderful and quirky – everything a reader loves in a cozy mystery. Even the dog (spoiled though he is) has a charming personality that has won the hearts of the local townsfolk and tourists alike. I can’t wait for the next installment in this series to see what adventures await Kate and her new friends.

And Then There Were Crumbs” by Eve Calder the first instalment in the "A Cookie House Mystery" series. I loved this book and totally added it to my favourite series list! I started reading series backwards with book 3 first but I loved so much I bought book two. I really enjoyed visiting Coral Cay, Florida , and the Cookie House and seeing how Kate started her journey on the island.
Everyone knows I’m a sucker for furbabies in my cozies so when you have a Doodle named Oliver who belongs to everyone, I was okay I’m in love. He really did belong to everyone in town, and they all pitched in for his care. Another thing I enjoyed was the relationship between Kate and Maxie when she goes to stay with her family and bakes cookies for everyone. It's great how the people of Coral Cay take care of their own and opened their arms to adopt Kate into their town family.
I was surprised by what happened to Stewart Lord and drawn in to find out what happened to him and saving The Cookie House! Kate turns out to be a great employee/friend to Sam by never doubting him and getting the whole town involved in bringing life back into The Cookie House and Sam.
It was entertaining, full of twists and turns and I didn’t completely guess whodunnit until Kate did. plus all the descriptions of the cookies made my mouth water.
I highly recommend this series to all my cozy loving friends and I can’t wait for book 4 to come out!
All thoughts and opinions are my OWN.

I guessed the end pretty quickly. The rest was boring because it was just waiting for the characters to put together obvious information.
Not enough satisfaction.
Was a cozy read and definitely craved cookies the entire time.
