The Last Lecture is one of the best nonfiction books I've read. This is my 3rd time reading through it, and I'm continually getting more out of it. After my 2nd reading, I realized just how much the author's advice has helped shaped my life. It's more than a memoir; it's an inspirational guidebook on how to be a better person. You can take so much from this experience and apply it how you life your life. I took my favorite quote from this book upon my first reading as a teenager, and I reminisce on how much the simple statement has helped shaped my decisions in life: "We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how you play the hand." We can't change what happens to us, but rather, how we react and adapt to the situation afterward. The Last Lecture also focuses a lot on overcoming the brick walls one faces in life to make one's dream come true, which is relevant advice that I needed to be reminded of. The book not only immortalizes Randy Pausch's legacy for all audiences, but presents thoughtful advice that anyone can apply to their lives. Put simply, this is the scripture for success stories. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for inspiration in a time where they have none, or who need advice to regain control of their life. It's an easy read and you might just get something more out of it.

Rating basically someone’s published love letter to their kids feels weird to rate. This was powerful, highly suggest. You gotta be in a good headspace going in though.

This is a good quick listen if you're in the right mood and headspace for end of life consideration from someone who sounds like an extroverted neurodivergent boomer who actually went to therapy and had some useful reflections. F cancer.
