Okay so I really wanted to like this book. I was excited to receive this. The size was not the issue, it was the story itself.

I could not feel sympathy or relate to the main character. Her situations were too many that makes them unrealistic. She comes across as whiny and ungrateful. The romantic interest is nothing but your typical handsome rich guy.

There are elements and situations that become an obstacle but are then dropped with no resolve. Some elements appear are resolved and then come back and get dragged on.

This book could have done without close to the first 15 chapters or so. Also there were added events at the end that dragged the story out more for no reason. The resolutions we did get in some situations were almost text book romance solutions ones I have seen over and over again.

Pace was too slow for me, especially throughout the first half of the book.

I liked this story better than her first book, Going Home, but they are both entertaining. Her characters are a lot of fun...but maybe that's because I love british storytlines and characters. :)

Somewhat Bridget Jones-ish but still a good read. Especially, if you think of yourself as a hopeless romantic. I could relate to Laura a li'l too much at times.

I practically had to force myself to continue reading the first 130-ish pages. First at this point I got caught up in the book, and it was fine. Therefore I cannot give it four stars.
Charles was such a lovely character though!

So funny, fresh and romantic! I had a great time reading this book! Is the perfect summer read and wonderful story to share with the girlfriends!

Fans of Sophie Kinsella will enjoy this one a LOT!!!

It took a little while for me to really get into it but once I passed the first handful of chapters this book flew by. Cute story, believable (yet frustrating at times!) heroine, and well-developed, mostly likeable characters. I'll definitely read more from Harriet Evans.

A great read when you feel like not thinking about anything and just want a happy ending!
