This is the first book I have read by this author and I assure you that it will not be the last. What a beautiful story of Helen, who elopes but finds that life is not what she thought it would be. After the death of her husband she takes her daughter home to her family. Enter the dashing Earl of Griffith, who is tasked with escorting Helen to her family home. The story touched my heart and I loved how their story unfolds. The words of this writer are very poetic and beautiful.

Soo, I picked this book mainly because I was in the mood for a historical fiction book, the fact it was also a romance was an added bonus. I definitely was not expecting just how much I was going to enjoy the Earl of Griffith. This book was short, amazingly sweet, and packed a massive punch in those pages. I was sad at first but once I got into the meat of the story I was sucked in. The care, sweetness, and love that Conway showed Helen, and Maeve, and how Helen had to heal, and overcome her fears was so well done through this novel that I didn’t want to stop reading. I laughed when Griffith is courting Helen through his letters but keeping his friend Gideon on his toes by having fun with Maeve all the while. This book really included it all. If your looking for a sweet, clean, stand alone romance, that includes some historical fiction elements this is a really good one to try!

I read this in one sitting unable to complete any other tasks as it had my complete and undivided attention! This is part of a series, but I read it as a standalone and didn’t feel lost at all. However, after reading this book I am absolutely picking up not only the rest of this series, but other books by this author as well. I am addicted to their storytelling capabilities. I felt like I took an emotional journey along with Helen and Conway, twisting and turning in a will they, won’t they read. Maeve is also a gleeful addition to the story as most children tend to be. I loved every scene she was in! If you enjoy romances on the cleaner side but still full of the raw emotions of a second attempt at love, please pick this one up. It’s a quick read and given the chance, it will sweep you off your feet!

This was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning. I really liked the characters. It has been awhile since I have read a historical romance and I quickly was reminded of why I enjoy them. The author does a great job with her writing. Helen is coming home as a widow with her child. She meets Conway who was sent by her brother to retrieve them. There was something about Helen and her daughter that grabbed his attention. Can Conway get through Helens walls and convince her to give him a chance? This is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. 1-click and get started today. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This is the 6th installment in the Once Upon a Widow series; however, you can easily read it as a standalone. There are ties to the other books in the series, but nothing too specific that you can't figure out what's going on. I stepped outside of my typical romance genre for this read (I typically like my romances dark and extra spicy) but I really did enjoy this historical, sweet romance. Other than the bit of drama at the beginning in which leaves Lady Helen a widow and returning home with her three-year-old daughter, Maeve, this story is fairly drama-free. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Lady Helen and Conway, Earl of Griffith. I would absolutely recommend this book, especially if you are looking for a palate cleanser between darker readings.

Earl of Griffith is the sixth book in the Once Upon a Widow series. The Regency romance drew me in, and I finished this in one go. I haven't read other books in this series, but I was not lost with the story. Lady Helen is widowed with a toddler. Will she ever let anyone in romantically again? While escorted by Conway to London, they develop a friendship that evolves into more. I enjoyed this sweet story of finding and giving love a chance after being hurt. The characters were delightful and charming. I had been looking for a romance that wasn't overly erotic, and this hit the right spot. The story is not complex and full of deep meaning. Instead, this is a sweet, historical romance that reminds one that love can be found anywhere. I look forward to picking up more from this author in the future.

Lady Helen was a girl full of love and adventure for her 1st husband, but the latter was just so but not for her, but for his country. After just 3 years that country will take him away from her and she will suffer greatly.
Conway was a gentleman in all that matter, his business, partners and taking care of those he loved. Begin this kind of man helps a friend in need, one whose sister must be escorted safely back to home. Oh but destiny has all in hand, and the red ribbon will act.
A short and fantastic romance full of friendship and the power of healing, this story is for one cozy sitting.

Sweet romance
This romance set in the Regency era quickly captures your heart. The sixth book in the Once upon a Widow series weaves a tale of jaded hearts, secrets and second chances. It’s a ‘clean’ romance and had some snippets of characters from previous books but not as overlapping as other books. With multiple POVs and engaging storyline this is a worthy read. Recommend.

This is a short historical romance but despite being short it captivated me. It was the perfect balance of emotional (sad) and sweet happier moments. The descriptive writing had me right there with the characters, experiencing the same things they did.
I was rooting for the characters from the beginning, they were written well and were so lovable, I couldn’t help but want them to succeed.
My only wish would be for the book to be longer, so it wouldn’t be over so soon. But I recently discovered that this was part of a series, so I’ll definitely be checking out the rest!

I loved this story so much. I love historical romance read and this author knows how to write them well! She creates wonderful characters who you cannot help but fall in love with and her attention to detail means that I can easily imagine exactly what is going on in the story as I’m reading. Lady Helen was such a lovely character and I really felt for her and everything she had been through. I think it was obvious once Conway met her he could see the type of person she was. I could really feel how Lady Helen struggled to let Conway in after everything that had happened in her past but I thought they made a lovely couple.
Another great addition to this series and one that I would highly recommend.
