This was a full five star read for me UNTIL the last bit of the book. There was conflict and a good resolution but then there was another big conflict and then another resolution. And while the second conflict definitely needed to happen, it felt redundant because of the first (unnecessary) one.
Despite not enjoying that aspect, the rest of this book was an absolute gold mine. I love all of these characters and I’m SO glad Vlad got his own book that really showed who he is.
There was so much angst and build-up. I was absolutely swooning and reading fast because I NEEDED them to get together. I felt so many things and I’m still speechless. If you’re a fan of friends-to-lovers and second chances, this is the book for you.
This is definitely my favourite of the series and I really just want to re-read it right now.

TW: kidnapping, brief mention of sex trafficking, mysterious death
OKAY I was so excited for Vlad’s story! And this book lowkey delivered! I honestly was just reveling in the bliss of getting a whole book dedicated to Vlad. He is my #1 book BF, totally the perfect man.
AND WE GOT A VIRGIN MMC!!!!! I love seeing that rep so much :’)
Elena was…a bit annoying? Like, headstrong and determined, but to her own detriment. Why do you need to stick your nose into your (objectively shitty) father’s work that literally got him killed? Why are you actively putting yourself and your loved ones in danger. I get that there’s the greater good and all, but broski, this is how your dad died. Then, there’s the issue of Elena overhearing Vlad and his dad talking on their wedding day. A COMPLETE MISUNDERSTANDING! She had every right to be hurt and a bit stand-off ish after hearing the snippet of the conversation, but why can’t we just talk about it????
TL;DR: can adults please communicate with each other?

2.5 stars. I had been looking forward to this one but I felt it was a bit of a let down.

Honestly, probably the best book yet in the series! I was so thrilled that the Russian got his own story. Every part of this book was building on the already wonderful foundation of the previous books in the series. Cannot say enough good things about it. I was genuinely worried that the wife of this kind hearted, sweet, sensitive man we have come to love would not be able to live up to what he deserves, but this story was so well crafted. Can’t wait to see what comes next for this group!

Hurray for Vlad Konnikov! I'd been waiting for a romance story for the Vlad and Lyssa Kay Adams delivered in the fourth installment of the Bromance series in Isn't It Bromantic. I adored this book!
Vlad has been a professional hockey player living in Nashville, TN for the last 6-7 years. His Bromance crew thinks that he has had a loving marriage with Elena Konnikova but that is far from the truth. Vlad and Elena grew up together in Russia and he married his childhood friend to give her a better life in America - and to keep her away from danger when her journalist father mysteriously disappeared one day.
The majority of the marriage, Elena has been away in Chicago studying to be a journalist. When Vlad gets injured during a hockey game, she drops everything and goes to be by his side. She decides to stay in Nashville to help him with his recovery. Even though they married for convenience, Vlad has always been in love with Elena - but does Elena feel the same?
While Vlad recovers, he tries to woo Elena and it's heartwarming to see them fall for each other. The Bromance Club of course helps with that, but Vlad is keeping yet another secret from them and even Elena.
This book was so cute and hilarious and I love that Adams included all of the Russian elements in the book. Even though this is a slow burn, the plot flowed really well and came together beautifully. I love the inclusion of the meddling neighbors and the secret speakeasy that Vlad frequents. My only criticism is that I would've loved if the book were more steamy, but overall this was a fun solid read. This was one of my most anticipated reads this year and I'm happy that Adams delivered.
Thank you NetGalley, Berkley Pub and Lyssa Kay Adams for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
