the police are ineffective. want me to call captain america? so he can run around the streets whacking some guys with his shield? and then give a speech about it?

frank mocks the avengers and adopts a coyote, what more could you want? (3 stars for the story, an extra because i love the art)

Great Punisher story with a complex plot and familiar faces for both villains and anti-heroes. There were a few open plot holes, especially given the ending. That said, given how much action was going on and the cliffhanger at the end makes me eager to pick up the next book and carry on with Frank's action-crazy adventures!

Punisher fights a drug lord who wants to poison LA with crazy green knockout gas.
Then electro shows up and gets his ass kicked.
Then Domino shoes up.

It’s bonkers, but a fun little read.

A good start to a new Punished series. The story was a bit uneven but still very good. I am excited for more.

My boyfriend is a big Punisher fan so, after 2+ years of being surrounded by Punisher art, piles of comics, and various props, I finally decided to read a Punisher comic to understand his #1 comic hero/antihero. I didn't realize that this was Punisher in LA, not the usual NYC, so I missed out on him working on his home turf. I liked the story, I found the cartel to be a nice antagonist for Castle to fight. I felt like the story line was kind of lacking the excitement and grit that I had expected, but perhaps the fact that this is the start to a new series and spent a lot of time building up characters was the reason. I would be curious to read more Punisher stories in the future since I liked this but didn't love it (which might also be the fact that I love DC and Batman so...maybe I'm unfairly comparing).

Good comic

Four of five stars. It could have been better, but I quite enjoyed. I have always liked antiheroes like The Punisher.

Lot's of fighting. Lot's war. And a certain amount of confusion. But a pretty good story. And certainly good enough art. So Marvel's figured out how to publish a good Punisher book. If only they were this consistent with Avengers. Sure the details could make more sense. And they might share those details with the reader. But they can always come back to that in the next book. Basically worth reading and a pleasant surprise.
