Honestly, this series is starting to get more boring than funny. Hopefully, the next few books will be a bit more ridiculous and entertaining. Here's the spoiler list, as usual:

- Sam literally manifests Polly back to life after she briefly dies. Later, she dies again and Sam becomes possessed by the evil spirit of Kyle, who he killed in a vengeful rage. Sam is potentially now the main villain of the series

- RIP Kyle, my psycho angst king

- RIP Polly, the only character with a sliver of personality

- Sera also dies. Again. Rice seems to have forgotten the first time Sera died, but I didn't

- Caleb's brother Samuel (not to be confused with Caitlin's brother Sam or Sam's ex Samantha) shows up and dies. I'm pretty sure he already died, but maybe I'm misremembering. I'll give Rice the benefit of the doubt on this one, but I won't always be so generous

-
[...] he was realizing that he had stronger feelings for Polly than he ever realized.

- Sam is constantly trying to protect Polly, even though she is a vampire and has been a vampire for WAY longer than him. He is still a teenager. He's been a vampire for like a month. She's been a vampire for at least a few hundred years and has lived with a coven that literally trains for combat the entire time

- Sera and Kyle have sex even though he's grotesque and also literally murdered her child. She thinks that her sleeping with Kyle will be the biggest insult to Caleb, who she's trying to get back at for marrying Caitlin. I'm not sure why she thinks this, given that Caleb hates both of them already. She then sleeps with a Scottish king to persuade him to help them kill Caleb and Caitlin. She didn't actually have to sleep with him because he just wanted to become a vampire, but alas

-
"I'LL PAY ANY PRICE!" Sam leaned back and screamed to the waves. The scream seemed to rise into the heavens, and as it did, it was echoed back by a flock of birds, flying overhead."

Did the birds repeat his exact scream like parrots (they are in Scotland right now, and I don't know of any birds in Scotland that can mimic human speech)? Or did his scream echo off each little bird body? So many questions

- Blake is back. Caitlin still has never told Caleb about him, if I recall correctly. He saves Caitlin's daughter, Scarlet, and he says that he "had fallen in love with Scarlet." I believe Rice meant to say that he was fond of her, but the wording implies pedophilia. I sure hope he didn't imprint on her

- Blake sends Scarlet to Caitlin with a message that he still loves Caitlin, which Caleb overhears. Given that he doesn't know who this guy is and that's his wife he's talking about, you'd think he would potentially ask Caitlin what's going on, especially since she has a stroke every time a woman is within 100 feet of Caleb, but he never does

- Caitlin might be growing as a person, as she actually realized that she was overreacting a bit when Caleb told her that Sera spoke with him. She never apologizes to Caleb though, she just pats herself on the back

- Vampires can get pregnant if one of them is ~*special*~

- Scarlet is attacked by wolves and bitten. I thought Rice was introducing werewolves into the series, which is rather late in the game. I was wrong. Scarlet has apparently always been a vampire, which makes no sense. Are vampires born and grow up or are they made? Are they a supernatural creature or a fantasy race? Explain yourself, Morgan!

- Scarlet is also the literal child of Caitlin and Caleb. It turns out that she was yeeted out of Caitlin's womb when she went into the past that first time, and that's why Caitlin ~*felt a connection*~ to her and kidnapped her from the streets of London

- When Scarlet is attacked by wolves, Ruth, the second wolf pup, fights back but seems to die. A few chapters later, she is randomly alive and it is retroactively explained that Caitlin used healing magic on her

- They're in Scotland to get the Holy Grail, which is also about vampires, as all religious or magical items and concepts are in this universe
