A lovely, short second-chance romance set in the same village as the novellas Snowed In and Belonging (both recommended too). How I wish I could taste the cinammon buns!

Yes, it's only a short story, but its also a prequel of a series, so I had to read it

Pat's Pantry
Trewton Royd Romances, Book 1
By: Rhoda Baxter
Narrated by: Diana Croft

This is the perfect listen for my walk! Just the right amount of time, Rhoda Baxter starts her romantic comedy series with a bang! Sue is the owner of a bakery, just trying to keep things afloat as she competes with the local bistro. Left 20 years ago by her love, she has poured her heart into work rather than relationships. Now Jack walks back in! Both immediately feel the bond they once had, but Sue isn't ready to dive in where they left off, is she? She needs answers, and he needs to explain! Witty banter, unexpected circumstances and a twist that may end it keeps you listening to see where the future lies!

Diana Croft brings each character alive with a lively narration. Spot on comedic timing and her amazing voices keep the story fresh and flowing. Looking forward to more.

Long lost love does it ever die? Jack hasn’t visited his childhood village since leaving for university. What will happen when he goes back will things fall back into place?

This was a fun little romance story, but a bit unbelievable to me. The two main characters haven’t seen each other in decades but go straight back into a romance as if they were teenagers all over again? Definitely unrealistic. But I think it is a great read for fans of romance books and isn’t badly written overall.

Fun short story of the rekindling of a long ago relationship. Quite slight, but engaging.
