This was pretty par for the course for kidnapping thrillers but 2 major points that I took stars off for

- I don’t think there was much credibility in the “why” behind John’s decision. It didn’t make sense in the broader sense of the story. 
I also didn’t understand the need for 2 gunshots. Clearly it was meant to be a moving, riveting part of the plot but it just doesn’t make sense.  

All in all, not terrible, not the best. It was quick, easy read, well written and easy to follow!
