Neither mysterious or humorous
This book was a huge disappointment. It took forever to get going, spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to create a romance between the US Marshall sent to Ireland and virtually the only Irish female he meets (a member of the Irish Garda), and rushed through the assassination of the American Banker the Marshall is to return to US custody. The book ended abruptly but not before introducing the apparent villainess of book 2. It was like a TV series script, not a novel. I won’t be reading any more of this series.
