Paging Doctor Scandalous

Oliver And Amelia’s story had me smiling, laughing, tearing up, back to smiling, then tearing for joy. I enjoyed their fake relationship story. The story was told well and didn’t drag. Layla (Amelia’s sister) is such a sassy sweet thing.

2023 Audiobook Review: Blake Lockheart & Avery Reid are both new to me narrators. They did both a great job. Blake as Oliver and Avery as Amelia. I enjoyed their narration!

This was fun but I preferred the second book. (Yes, I started out if order, my OCD is triggered, I don’t want to talk about it.)
My problem was the ending. It seemed like the author has had enough and wanted to wrap it up. All of a sudden, in 10 pages all the reasonable doubts and fears went out the window, everybody was forgiven, convenient solutions found and everybody sang  kumbaya around the fire, living happily ever after. Too easy.
I’ll give the third book a chance because now I’m invested in these characters.

I liked the concept of this story - a fake engagement between high school classmates who don’t want to go to their ten-year reunion alone, but then, for various reasons, feel trapped in their lie.

However, the storytelling style didn’t quite deliver for me. These two spent a lot of time in their own thoughts when readers would have benefited more from seeing them interact on the page instead. These two seemed to think an awful lot about the end of their fake engagement rather than interacting, talking, and doing what they can to prevent it from ending.

Still, I liked the story the author was telling even if I didn’t love the delivery.

This book was so hard to put down.  I loved the storyline between Amelia and Oliver.  Oliver is amazing and he protects and looks after Amelia and Layla.  I highly recommend this book if you like, romance, spice and drama.

I actually enjoyed reading this book. Honestly after the last two 2⭐️ reads I was kinda hesitant to pick up another book bc I felt like I was going through a slump. This def brought me out of my slump and I will be reading the rest of the series.

I def thought this book would be to insta-love for me but it was kinda subtle. Oliver liking her when they were kids made it not seem so insta-lovey so I was able to get past that. Also love the fact that the fmc is a red head. There needs to be more ginger representation lol. They were so cute tho. I absolutely loved his relationship with Layla, it’s so precious. I also loved how all of his siblings and his mom clocked that fact that Oliver was so in love with Amelia before she clocked it.

I kinda knew going in there’d be a 3rd act breakup but it was fine bc it was not a “miscommunication 3rd act breakup” but “my dad is a overprotective asshole and essentially broke me and my gf up” 3rd act breakup. So I wasn’t that mad. I was mad at the dad bc boy was he wrong. He made me soooo mad when he did that and I get where he’s coming from but still damn. That was such an asshat move. They forgave that man wayy too fast. Def would’ve made him work for my forgiveness.

Nora was psycho. Point. Blank. Period.
