This was an extremely dense, scientific read that basically boils down to, "Sleep impacts every area of life and you need more of it than you think. Enough sleep can reduce risk and mitigate symptoms of everything from ADHD to Cancer while insufficient sleep dramatically increases your risk of things like dying in a car accident and suffering from dementia."
That said, I did enjoy learning the more science-y details of how sleep impacts the brain and interacts with the rest of the body. I would have to invest a lot more time of mental effort on the book to retain most of those details, though.
If you're looking simply for practical advice on how much sleep you need and how to get it, this probably isn't the book for you (or you can skip right to the appendix with practical tips). If you're interested in more details, this book has them all.
Content
There are a handful of f-bombs when the author quotes a humourous adult book about sleep.
Also, this book is EXTREMELY heavy on evolutionary theory, which I found frequently distracting.
