I may have gone too long between the first book and this one, but Jal had worn thin by the end of this one. I'm glad to see the tale wrapped up in a somewhat satisfactory way, but it was almost too neat and tidy.

The science talk and explanation of magic in this one left me with a bit of a headache, too, and I don't think I carried anything away with me.
