First time really reading PNR where one is an alien. I quite enjoyed the idea of this story although it was mostly erotica with a side of storyline but it was a cute, quick read.

3.5 Stars! I forgot that I have already read this story in an anthology. So here is my review I posted for it.

Zander is from Zandian and is the prince of a planet-less race. He is working hard to prepare for war to reclaim their home planet. Lamira is a human, daughter of a famous soldier. Her mother was captured when she was pregnant with Lamira and has hidden their true identities with the Ocretions. She has a gift that would cause her and her mothers death if revealed. Zanders people wish to have him breed before he goes off to war to insure the continuation of his race. His physician has found Lamira to be the most compatible to breed. Zander is less than thrilled since humans are looked upon as the lowest of race. He sees them as weak and prone to deception. This has spanking, restraints, caging and an Alpha male.

I am a fan of Renee Rose's work so I hate to admit that I was not a complete fan of Zander. Lamira IS a slave, but he accused her of lying too many times and punished her for things she didn't do. He does come to see the error of his ways. Despite that, I do enjoy this author's writing and this ends as if there is more to the story involving Lamira's sister which I would very much like to read. ARC provided by NetGalley.

My first alien book was Renee's Zandian Brides book 1 and because of that book I went back and read the entire Masters series and continue to read her Brides series. OMG His Human Slave is so HAWT! This is a super hot alien slave sex romance. So if you don't like non-con DON'T read it. These purple Zandians are so DOMINANT and HAWT! I couldn't put this book down and before I was even 1/4 of the way through the book I wanted my own Zandian. The HEA is so worth it. Thank Renee for your brilliant brain.

Aliens are a new thing for me...one that I wanted to try out & I received this book for free from the offer via BookFunnel. At the time, it seemed like killing two birds with one stone: I get try a new style of book for me AND I get to review a book sent directly to me from an author!

Personally, I found the characters to be quite one-note-not very interesting at all. They didn't really seem to have personalities outside of their backstories. For Zander, he is supposed to be this super intelligent, but extremely stressed prince whose home world was destroyed leaving the last of his race basically on his ship. This didn't come through for me...as he seemed quite gullible and unaware of his surroundings which is the exact opposite of how he was described. Lamira is supposed to be a GORGEOUS woman who has spent her whole life in a slave colony. However, outside of that and

she doesn't really have a personality.

Now don't get me wrong, there is some good smut here. lol. I def enjoyed it. However, this does teeter on the edge of misrepersenting BDSM - as the 'dom', the alien prince, isn't an actual dom in this situation - he's just insecure & abuses his power.

I will not be continuing the series but I think it's just not my cup of tea - however, I can see why others would like this book.

BOTTOM LINE: His Human Slave is a smutty alien romance with generally good s*x scenes. However, the characters fall flat & the plot is just okay.
