Such a cute series. Ideal for kids of divorced parents.

Amber has to decide whether to go to Walla Walla, Washington with her mom and Max, or spend Thanksgiving with her dad.She doesn't want to make either of them mad and in this story, Amber explores her feelings of being disloyal. Additionally, Amber deals with a new girl in school named Kelly Green.

Very cute! I've never read Amber Brown before, but this one was terrific! The writing is good and the characterizations are realistic. This is a great story for any child who has divorced parents.

Amber's divorced parents each want her to spend Thanksgiving with them, and as upsetting as she finds their fighting, she is even more stressed out when they leave the decision to her. She knows that either way she chooses, one parent will be unhappy. Meanwhile, there is a new girl in school called Kelly Green.

Amber Brown books are sweet, but they always leave me feeling unsatisfied, and this one is no exception. It's not just that it's short and not much happens. I know to expect that. This particular volume is just anticlimactic. The central conflict is Amber's decision, but it's just vague fretting until she makes up her mind, but it doesn't lay out her thought process, why she made up her mind the way she did, or how she got to that point. The Kelly Green storyline, though I know it's mostly setup for a future book, is even more unsatisfying. Events are foreshadowed which don't happen. I guess they will occur in a future book, but it seems unnecessary to introduce the Kelly storyline here only to drop it before it gets interesting.
