"Why waste any second of the short life we’re given being angry when you could be happy?"

This was my first book by the author, and I really enjoyed it! Demi escaped her abusive father at 18, determined to make a happy, loving life on her own. She's an aspiring chef with an outgoing/blunt personality who wants to have fun and make the most out of her life. Asher is a tattoo artist whose past makes him afraid of love, so he is known as a player. When they meet for the first time, they are both attracted to each other but decide not to take it to the next step and just be friends. Unable to deny their attraction, their friendship blossoms into so much more!

I loved Demi as a character. She overcame so much from her past and became a strong, kind, and happy person despite all that has happened to her. Asher is the epitome of when he falls, and he falls hard. He is so sweet to Demi as a friend, and then when they progress to a relationship, he is so protective and loving towards her. Their friendship is awesome, but their relationship is so sweet and full of spice!  I would definitely recommend this book and can't wait to read the others in the series!
