It really started to seem like this series ran out of plot after book 1. I made it through book 2, which was pretty thin on the plot, but this one started off so boring that I had no faith it was going to build into anything substantial. Maybe it does. I really hope so.

Heart of the Shadow King

The Heart of the Shadow King is the last installment of the Bride of the Shadow King series. I read this book so fast. ๐Ÿ’จ I was a little worried going into this book because this series is so vast. I was worried how she was going to wrap everything up, but she did well. I loved Theodore! I am glad she wrote a little epilogue of him. I enjoyed this series and was sad that it ended.

I want to thank NetGalley for providing me with a copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.

This is such a fun series. The magic is unique, the world is vibrant, the characters are compelling, and the romance is swoony. This book really focused on Faraineโ€™s growth as a character and the development of her magic. I thought it was a great conclusion to Faraine and Vorโ€™s story. It answered all the questions and confronted the problems that arose in the first two books, and Iโ€™m totally satisfied with the way it ended. Iโ€™m especially grateful for the epilogue where we finally find out who Hael ends up with.

I was a bit scared to read this book. The second one was boring and too long and didnโ€™t grip me at all. This one was much better, even though some plot is still missing and I have many questions.
Happy to see a bit of action and have a happy ending conclusion (a bit rushed though the last couple of pages).
Sometimes the protagonists were a bit boring and made stupid decisions but I can understand why.
Like I said, I think the problem I had with the second and third book is the plotโ€ฆit changed from the first one and something was missing.
But overall, happy Iโ€™ve completed this trilogy.

You would think that with world building and context of story, many fantasy books take time to get a good pace going, but honestly,  Book 1 started off well and kept a good pace with good context and story building.  The one issue I always have is that sometimes the author is too much in the mcโ€™s thoughtsโ€ฆ. Too much thinking and explaining and not enough action happeningโ€ฆ. Which is something that carries throughout the series landing it my 4 star for all 3 booksโ€ฆ.

So the Secret is out! But will that chemistry simmerโ€ฆ.. only time will tell.  And a bit more explanation as to the โ€˜end of the worldโ€™ but overall good book!

Ahhh where All the action happens!  The MCs are separated for a big chunk of the book for good reasonโ€ฆ of course!  And unfortunately I skim pieces of this one because as much of the action is good story, meh, I want the book to get to the end already! ๐Ÿ˜… cause I want to know what happens!  But thats just me being impatient, not that the story isnt good!

Overall, I really enjoyed this romantasy, I think im ready to dive into ACOTAR next!

It's dragging so much and he just left her to deal with everything. The story is so convulated and life is too short.
