I love being surprised by new genres!!! This book was absolutely amazing and for those of you who have absolutely no affiliation with the military whatsoever DO NOT LET IT SCARE YOU AWAY! For whatever reason ive always avoided the "military" subgenre but I think I need to give it more credit! Yes there was a lot of navy talk but honestly it was pretty straight forward and anything I didn't understand I googled (or asked my army husband because it's relatively the same lingo).
Steel Fear is an amazingly intense story that kept me on my toes, second guessing every characters stories, and overall just completely invested in figuring out what the hell is going on!
I will say a major trigger warning for description of murder of a young child, murder of an adult and psychological torture.
