A wonderful story about a mother, daughter, and sister to be born. Shows the love of family during a long car ride in the rain. Would make a great read aloud for younger elementary children.

Bob Graham is a master of writing and illustrating wholesome, kind, and uplifting stories. Caught in the midst of a storm, Francie and her mother wonder what Francie's unborn baby sister's name might be. With his usual cartoon style, we are allowed to also follow the stories of roadside animals trying to seek cover--just as Francie and her mom are, which makes for even more complexity and narrative-building. But overall, truly, this is just a sweet story that follows a daughter and her mom through a physical and emotional journey. It's perfect for the child who's expecting a new sibling, and a perfect rainy-day book. Great for grades K-3.

February 2019 - delightfully understated, filled with quiet observations more than plot. I always love Graham's illustrations and the way his characters come alive so vividly.

There is too much going on in this book. Also, eating hard boiled eggs in a tiny cars seems like a very bad idea.
