Based on the journey of lovable characters attempting to escape the Red Army by embarking on the Wilhelm Gustloff, which was then tragically sunk by a Soviet submarine in 1945.

I highly recommend this to those who are drawn to war novels and learning about historical events they haven't known / heard of before.
