A Dance with Domination by K.C. Wells
5.0
'A Dance With Domination' is book four in K.C. Wells's wildly popular 'Collars and Cuffs' series. It's certainly a favorite series of mine as it revolves around a BDSM club and has some of the best characters that I've read in a very long time. The writing is wonderful, the storylines are strong, the sex is hot, and the men are incredible. Truly? What more could you ever want?
The very first thing about Andrew that really appealed to me was how much he reminded me of Leo and Thomas. Andrew might be a very young Dom, at twenty-nine, but he already has a fascinating and very unique set of life experiences upon which to draw from. Andrew has just returned to the UK after years of living in the States and he's very interested in becoming a member of Collars and Cuffs. His daytime job is as a copywriter, he's just snagged a weekend stripping job, and after his initial meeting with Leo and then acceptance as a member, life is going very well. Andrew's interview scene, so to speak, really impresses Thomas and Leo as Andrew is very knowledgeable regarding Shibari and it's a skill not seen in their club.
Interestingly enough, Andrew meets Gareth for the first time, not at Collars and Cuffs, but at Bliss where Gareth also performs as a stripper. Andrew has noticed Gareth at Bliss only because Gareth always seems very nervous and fidgety, until he gets under the lights and dances. When Gareth asks Andrew for help with his lap dancing skills, Andrew employs his firm Dom skills to center the boy and Andrew recognizes a sub when he sees one. Of course Andrew is in no way looking for a relationship of any kind, certainly not after the trauma in his own past. Gareth figures out that Andrew is a Dom and realizes that's part of his attraction to the man. It is to explore these feelings that Gareth returns to Collars and Cuffs after four long years when he knows his own personal nightmare might be waiting.
Oh wow. As much as I have loved and adored each of the previous three books, there is something extra special about this installment. Perhaps it was because Andrew and Gareth were friends and co-workers first at Bliss, and that's where their attraction spilled over. Maybe it's the stunning protectiveness they each showed toward the other. It's such a wonderful love story of two men trying to put their past hurts behind them and open themselves up to loving again.
It was so much fun to watch Andrew get to know all my favorite people, Leo and Alex, Ben and Scott, Miles and Pietro, and Thomas and Peter. It's one of my favorite parts of a series when I get the chance to re-interact with former much loved characters! Even better was watching Andrew put that jackalope of a Dom, Gareth's former master, in his place, front and center. Ah, I love to see the smarmy guy get what he deserves! Well, K.C., you've done it again. I loved it. You've introduced a number of new people so now I'm on pins and needles to discover whose story will be next. Thank you!
