Fortune Academy Underworld: Book Eight by J.R. Thorn
5.0
Every single second of this book was SO EXCITING.
The writing is brilliant—I’ve always been a fan of Thorn, and I believe I’ve rated all her earlier stuff 4-5 stars, but still … her writing has continued to advance over the course of this world.
I’m so impressed by her ability to weave complex plots, and lovable characters, and the absolute worst villains, yet … they’re often (if not always) still redeemable … and how she can pull of something like, giving a FMC 8 mates and it still is completely plausible. AND … the amount of steamy scenes between said 9 people and STILL never just s*x for the sake of s*x—these scenes ALWAYS further the plot, or someone’s abilities or something along those lines.
I’ll probably re-read this entire series every so often, as being lost in it is just so much fun. I do highly recommend this to everyone—even if you think RH or fantasy or any other aspects aren’t for you. It just may open your mind a bit, introduce you to new worlds.
It does end on a wicked cliffhanger. I might’ve cursed out the author a little in the moment, but ultimately I love it and know it’ll be so worth the wait.
5 stars.
Eagerly awaiting book 9.
