Destroying the Baby in Themselves: Why did the two boys kill James Bulger? by David Jackson

4.0

This is a short story that delves into why two young boys could brutally kill another child.

James Bulger's death is one that horrified a nation and I don't think any of us could comprehend the awful events that took place on that tragic day.

It doesn't actually go into much detail about what actually happened that day though there is enough mentioned to still shock the reader. The author speculates on how society in general and the children's backgrounds could have had a huge impact on why the boys did what they did.

In a way I agree that I don't think anyone is born evil and that individual circumstances can have a huge impact on how people turn out. The author certainly makes some valid points though I think it will still leave the reader still none the wiser as to why what happened did but certainly makes for an interesting read.
