The River at Night by Erica Ferencik
4.0
Wonderfully captivating with expert descriptions of the developing dynamics of adult female friendships. The author takes time to detail the foreboding progression before their arrival to the lodge and even depicts a few hostile locals who seem to be a lot worse than friendly. Unfortunately these locals never return in the story and I think that was a missed opportunity. I also would have liked to know how Rory’s dad felt at the end and whether he took any of the blame for putting four unsuspecting women in harms way. One star off for not tying up what could have been worthwhile plot ends.
