Update: Audiobook review
Another top notch audiobook experience. The storyline always just draws you in and having the opportunity to listen to it was fantastic. The narration was much better this time around. I did increase the speed and it made the experience much more enjoyable. I actually did not have the same problem with the female narrator, Tanya Eby as I did in the first book and the male narrator, Tor Thom was fantastic.
Like in many of Freya Barker’s books, Life & Limb, book 2 in the PASS series is filled with amazing characters, intense attraction, mystery that keeps you guessing and a fantastic happily ever after. The heroine, Willa Smith is a fierce, strong, independent and compassionate character. She worked as a social worker in the Army Forces in Germany for eight years and now works at a homeless shelter assisting mostly veterans. The hero of this story is Dimas Mazur, we meet him briefly in Hit & Run, is also former military and he is now one of the security specialists at PASS security. I wasn’t quite sure how I would feel about him, but he definitely shows his swoony side.
From the very first meet, the attraction was instantaneous. Their relationship develops quickly, but both not really looking for anything serious. Things start to heat up when Willa becomes involved in a homicide investigation when one of the residents is found murdered with her card on his person and the accused happens to be one of Dimas’ military friends. As the danger increases, so do the feelings between Willa and Dimas. The suspense portion definitely kept me on my toes, there were twists and turns that I didn't see coming. The secondary characters, especially Britt, WIlla’s niece and the other family members, and a wonderful pup were an added bonus.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to the next in this series.
