I unfortunately agree with many of the other one and two star reviews here. I DNF'd when I hit the epilogue because I just didn't care enough to see what happened.

I normally wouldn't put up with such an insufferable heroine, but I kept hoping she'd change her attitude and impress me, that that would be part of her character growth as the story progressed. But no. She was immature, annoying, illogical and selfish the entire book. Her only redeeming quality was how she acted around Aiden.

I have no idea what attracted Adam or her ex, other than that she was a freak in the sheets and could take a big dick like a pro... Because we were told that over and over and over. Cock and dick were used about 140 times in this book and I'd say the majority of them were spouted by the FMC when she was reminding us how much she appreciated and needed a big one. I feel awful for any men reading this book who are average or below average, because there was a lot of dick size shaming throughout.

The kid was cute, and IMO had some neurodivergent qualities (whether that was intentional or not I don't know) but like the other single dad romance I recently read, was far too mature, eloquent and calm for a five year old.

The sex scenes were the best parts of the book. Adam was satisfyingly rough and dominant after all his dirty talk and threats.

Such a disappointing HEA. I felt that MMC had strong feelings for FMC (somehow) and FMC was giving him breadcrumbs. It was insulting how little respect she gave him and how little she cared for his feelings. Her worries were always about him hurting her and what would happen to her if they ended things, not ever about her potentially hurting him or his kid. I won't even mention the disaster that was their meet cute.

Overall I can't really recommend this one unless you love a bratty, wishy washy FMC who doesn't submit to her feelings until the very end (and yet still is hesitant/holding back).
