The Dice Man by Luke Rhinehart

1.0

People like this book's narrator are what's wrong with the world, if you ask me. I do like "dark" and "shocking," but I don't like it when they try too hard to shock for shocking's sake, and it's exactly how this read from the beginning to the end. Yes, we don't wanna be stuck in a loop in our lives; yes, most of us hate our lives; yes, everything's boring and everyone sucks, but if you assign the damn dice the things you would want to do but are too chicken shit to do, what's the point? I don't know what kind of significance this book might have those who were young adults or adults in the 70's, but having read it, I don't think I wanna know. Lastly, even though I enjoy dark and all kinds of weird humor, I failed to see any in this story.
