Forged from the Ashes by J. Kearston
5.0
I adore J. Kearston’s books. Forged from the Ashes is a standalone novel starting off a series about dragons. Here we meet Ezra, and I love that she doesn’t have a typical female name. She is protected by her older triplet brothers, and she cares for her younger brother. When Caius, Vyrian, and Soren come in to town, she realizes she is paying attention to males other than her family for the first time.
Secrets are revealed and trials put in to place. Ezra must make her choice on mates or be hunted when she reaches maturity. Being a rare unmated female dragon puts a mighty big target on her back.
The steam is slow burn but fits well with the story. As her story wraps up at the end, I think things progress exactly as needed by the completion of the book.
