Sigh. FIIIIIINE. I'll admit that Percy Jackson is a good series. 😂
I missed out on the Percy Jackson books when I was a kid—I was juuuust old enough that I wasn't the target audience. And by the time I would have gotten back into them, the hype wasn't as strong so I forgot they existed.
It wasn't until I met my current partner who is absolutely OBSESSED with the series that I gave it a shot. And I'll admit: I'm glad I did. It's such a fun take on mythology.
It's definitely a YA series. The characters are all young, and do some very "stupid young person" things.. but honestly, that's kind of part of the charm! The story is fresh and engaging, and the pace moves quick so you never get bored. We started it as an audiobook on the way home from a trip, and I immediately devoured the print version when I got home.
If you enjoy fun, adventurous YA (think Divergent, Hunger Games, and that magic school one we were all obsessed with) you'll definitely like Percy Jackson. Just do yourself a favor and focus on reading the books, stay away from the movies!
