Okay so rereading this series as an adult has shown me that the second half of this series is actually not that good. Montgomery tried to capture Anne’s magic with other characters and it just doesn’t really work. Plus, Anne doesn’t even feel like herself as a character when she is included in the story. 

Really my two stars is about how BADLY this aged. Like the amount of covert and outright racism is insane. Some of the phrasings, words, and comparisons/descriptions used was awful and would literally not be printed like this now.
