Not Happy Campers by Ash Keller
4.0
I found this novella to be very well done. I always go on a soapbox spiel when I find a successful novella because more often than not they're poorly done. Either they squeeze too much story into a very rushed and frantic package, or they don't group the story well enough to feel like it has a beginning middle and end.
Not Happy Campers, while not the absolute best novella I've ever read, was a tidy story that still packed a bit of feel under the hood. Lainey and lance had previously had a run-in after which Lainey lost her waitress job. She's therefore not the biggest fan of him when they meet again and he needs her to pose as a fiancé for his job.
I thought Keller did a nice job of fleshing out both Lance and Lainey and making their motivations clear. It was such a nice bonus that they also both seemed to have a bit of growth through the story. And the pacing was great.
I'll definitely be back for more.
