The mental gymnastics June puts herself through to try and justify her own actions to herself and the outside world are, quite frankly, absolutely ridiculous. I love Kuang's writing. Never have I enjoyed actively rooting against a narrator this much.
Graphic: Racism and Cultural appropriation
Minor: Suicidal thoughts
