Fractured was the perfect continuation of the Slated trilogy. Packed with action, drama and suspense, this was such an enjoyable read.

Fractured continues pretty much from where we’re left at the end of Slated, which made the opening chapters very intense. Once again, I was left with shivers down my spine and I felt haunted throughout.

When reading Slated, I didn’t know how much more haunting and chilling the story could get, but Fractured took everything to a whole new level. I couldn’t have guessed half of what would happen in Fractured, especially with all the twists and turns!

As stated on the front cover: ‘In a world full of danger, who can you trust?’. I took this very very literally – to the point where I realised that maybe Kyla can’t trust anyone, even those that she’s closest to. This made me question everything that was happening, wondering if everyone could be a Lorder in disguise, waiting for a jumpscare moment at every point in the book.

The ending of Fractured was incredible! It was so tense and I couldn’t take my eyes off the pages until I’d finished reading the last word. Upon finishing Fractured, I immediately started reading Shattered as I couldn’t wait to see how Kyla’s story would end!

I loved the flashbacks to Kyla’s past as it felt like she was gradually being pieced together as a person, with the remaining mystery of why certain events had happened and the chronology. This was another thing in Fractured that constantly left me guessing as I was trying to work out which events in her past led to another.

Like with Slated, I felt that the more I read of Fractured, the less I actually knew about Kyla and her past. I loved this as I was constantly left guessing until everything wrapped up at the end. I still had a million questions running through my mind at the end of Fractured, which I hoped would be covered in Shattered (which they were)!

Once again, I felt like I was part of the story, like I was experiencing everything with Kyla. I was feeling fear, joy and pain with her. This made me read on and on and on becuase I just wanted to know what would happen next and if everything really would happen the way that I thought it would.

Overall, I highly recommend Fractured to anyone who has read Slated, and I highly recommend Slated to any fans of Crime, Thriller or anyone who wants a different style of book on their TBR list.
