Blackbringer by Laini Taylor

4.0

Prepare to enter a very cool, original world. Humans are basically not even a part of the storyline (they exist, but only briefly arise and go away again), so we see everything from the Faeries' points of view. The main characters are fun and witty; there are all sorts of Fae creatures involved, and animals that talk, specifically birds.

The bad guys, or Djinn, are interesting creatures, and the magic used to (try to) defeat them is very cool. I've never read anything like it.

The plot flowed, the characters were developed, humor was in all the right places, the danger was severe enough that it kept your on your toes (or rather, kept you turning pages)...

It's a really fun read, and I can't wait to read the next one.

Also, note: The audiobook is read by Davina Porter on Audible, and she does a fantastic job! You really get sucked into Laini Taylor's world.
